4th Week
This week had a lecture on 3 point lighting and how it's produced. In this lecture my group started to discuss possible ideas for our Documentary. We all decided to do a Documentary because we are always watching them and watching them more than dramas or promos. As I watch a lot of documentaries, I already had a lot of research and inspirations for our possible documentary. I watched numerous amount of different documentaries on a daily occasion. These are my inspirations when it comes to documentaries.
One documentary that has really inspired me is the documentary that David Beckham did back in June of 2014 called ' Into the Unknown '. This was one of the first documentaries that I literally did not move my eyes from the screen, it wasn't just because of the David himself or the fact they're in Brazil, it was because of the techniques and style of the whole documentary itself. The cinematography of the whole documentary was very grungy but yet really modern and clear to see, the pull focuses on the shots were crisp and added the to the atmosphere of the documentary. The colour correction of the documentary was really good, it had a green tint to it throughout the whole documentary, this is what made the documentary so attractive to me as the colours were so mesmerising.

Life and Death Row
This documentary was shown on BBC over a year go. I found this documentary interesting not just because of the topic but because of the style of the production. The camera angles they used in this documentary was different and exciting. Majority of the documentary, the camera shots were all straight on like the one in this picture, this made the subject a lot more prominent in the shot and gave the documentary a different edge.
Paedophile Hunter
This documentary was shown on Channel 4 last year. This documentary was shot on a low budget but yet the shots they got out of their DSLRs were next to professional film cameras which I found inspiring because it means you can get excellent quality out of DSLRs. It was interesting as well to see a documentary within a documentary as the people that were being filmed were also doing their own film.
River Monsters
This is shown on ITV 1. I find this documentary inspirational because of how Jeremy Wade actually explores within this documentary, he's actually exploring with us and doesn't know what will happen throughout the documentary but yet he still has a rough structure.
Holocaust: Night Will Fall
This was shown on Channel 4. I found this documentary because this documentary was built around an old unfinished documentary back in World War 2. The composition of the piece was modern but yet had a touch of a old fashion style to it which I never had seen before.
Inside Death Row with Trevor McDonald
I really enjoyed this documentary because it was such a simple style and th
Alaska: Earth's Frozen Kingdom
The camera techniques that were done in this video were one of the best I've seen, they were very subtle and smooth.
Gadget Man
I really like the techniques that was used in this documentary because it was different to other documentaries I've seen. The pop up screen of the names stood out to me because I've never seen anything like that on a documentary before. I wanted to see if I could develop my own version of that within my documentary.
The Brainstorm
At the end of the lecture, my group decided to probe our brains and come up with possible ideas for our documentary.
